Tips to Help Ensure a Good Windshield Glass Repair

• Have stone chips repaired as soon as possible. A fresh, uncontaminated chip will allow the resin to adhere better resulting in a more stable and clear repair.
• If chip is not in the drivers direct line of vision, place a small piece of scotch tape over chip, this will help prevent contaminates from entering.

Window Glass Repair Limitations

• The size, location, and condition of the stone chip are important considerations in determining weather it can be repaired. A windshield CAN NOT be repaired if:
• The damage is larger than one square inch (About the size of a quarter)
• The stone chip is in the drivers acute vision area (12 inch X 12 inch area directly in front of the driver)
• The stone chip has an outside pit larger than 3/8 inch
• The damage penetrates both the outside and inside layers of the windshield
• The stone chip is on the inside layer of the windshield
• The stone chip has contaminates that can not be removed by cleaning
• The damage has had a previous repair attempted
• The windshield has special features such as solar coating or electric heating
